This high def camera is the professional industry standard, and a filmmaker’s best asset - capable of shooting at both 720p and 1080i on p2 cards, as well as shooting standard definition to mini-dv tape. It can also shoot at 24 frames per second, which replicates the rate that film cameras shoot at, giving a very close to film look, especially when shooting in high def. The camera can shoot at multiple frame rates (slow motion) and can shoot time lapse (which i love). When shooting hd, the camera also records four channels of 16-bit audio, two channels from the on-camera mic, and the other two from the two xlr inputs on the side of the camera. The audio quality is superb from this camera, and i have worked with it extensively. 5 batteries:the camera also comes with five extended power batteries (about three hours each), two battery chargers. The case:the camera comes with the case: kata mc-61 (kt mc-61, mc61) camcorder multi case. 2 p2 cards:i’m including 2 8gb p2 cards with the camera as well.
At 24fps and 720p hd, this allows a user 40 minutes of continuous recording. It only takes 7 minutes to offload this card into a laptop, so it can be used for film making, eng, or event videography. The nice thing about the cards is that they are hot-swappable, meaning that if you have more than one, you can remove one while the other one records, then switch when needed. I’ve used the camera to shoot commercials, shorts, day shoots, events and industrials for major clients (aflac, home depot and coke). There are three hours on the tape heads and maybe 200 on the camera itself.
It’s been sent out for professional cleaning and firmware upgrades, and i’ve treated this package with kid-gloves. This is a fantastic camera package!
