Sony Fx1 Hdr-fx1 (like Z1u) Hd-hdv Camcorder Low Hours
Sony hdr-fx1 hdv camcorder - no reserve. Low hours, studio use only. This a sony fx1 hdv camcorder i used in conjunction with a pair of z1s to broadcast and record a weekly tv show for about a year. Judging from the hours on the two z1us i used on the same program, i estimate the total hours to be pretty low, at less then 175hrs of tape run. (sony recommends a tape transport cleaning and service at 500 hours and major service at 1500hrs, and claims an expected unit service life of about 4,000hours with proper care and service).
It was used on a tripod, in a studio environment and not for handheld shooting, a field or rental camera, and as the sony z1us i got at the same time has functioned flawlessly. A uv protective filter has been installed from new and the lens is in mint condition. I have been using professional video equipment for over 25years and have taken great care to not abuse it and treat the camcorder as carefully as possible. Also, i use other professional cameras such as the cannon xh-a1, panasonic hvx, sony ex-1, ex-3 and cinealta, and find the fx1 and z1u camcorders match or surpass those cameras in terms of convenience, quality and durability. Images are, smooth, sharp and more film like then other comparable camcorders. This is a 3ccd camera and and many pros still prefer the fx1 and z1 over the ex or z7u and fx7 sonys as the fx1 is immune to the “jello” imaging, blurred motion and rolling shutter effects of the more expensive cmos cameras.
